Manteo Waterfront Marina

035°54'54"N
075°40'20"W

The Manteo Waterfront Marina is located in a tranquil setting less than a mile from the Roanoke Sound.  It is a small, deep, and well-protected harbor, and can accommodate vessels up to 150 feet in length.  The marina has only 53 slips available, making it perfect for that extra personal service.  There are approximately 20 transient slips and 33 slips dedicated to seasonal and annual boaters.  Rates are based on length-of-stay and size of boat.  We also offer arrangements for repairs, haul out, rental cars, and shuttle services to nearby airports in Manteo and Norfolk, VA.  Pump out service is available at the marina and fuel is available nearby.  Casual dining, shopping, and supplies are all within walking distance of the marina.  All slips feature 30 and 50 amp power, cable television, and free wireless Internet access.  The air conditioned comfort station located at the marina features separate men's and women's  bathrooms, clean showers, and coin operated washer and dryer.  Boaters come to Manteo for its coastal charm and relaxed atmosphere.  The Town of Manteo also provides free overnight tie-up with no services on a "space available" basis; or you may anchor in good holding between the Waterfront Gazebo and Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse and take your dinghy to the dock.  We welcome all boaters and you can contact the Manteo Marina on VHF-16 or call the Dockmaster for directions on approach or for information.

Pump Out Station

A marine pump out station located on the Manteo waterfront was completed recently and ready for use by boaters coming to the downtown waterfront area.  Funded by a CAMA Marina Sewage Pump Out and Dump station grant, the Town of Manteo installed the pump out station for the use of boaters visiting the area and to be a part of the Clean Marina Initiative.  The Clean Marina Initiative is a voluntary, incentive-based program promoted by NOAA and others that encourages marina operators and recreational boaters to protect coastal water quality by engaging in environmentally sound operating and maintenance procedures. All waste from the pump out station on the waterfront flows directly to a nearby lift station and then is routed to the wastewater treatment plant for purification.  This boater from Norfolk, VA is the first customer to try out the new pump out station.  The pump out station is available to all boaters by appointment with Dock Master Carl Jordan.  There is a minimal $5.00 fee and he can be contacted by calling 252-473-3320.

Alternate Intracoastal Waterway

Take the Alternate ICW and Enjoy the Trip!

The Manteo Waterfront Marina welcomes northbound and southbound boaters taking the Intracoastal Waterway through the Albermarle and Pamlico Sounds and Neuse River where the route rejoins the ICW at Oriental NC.  Not only does the route save 17 miles from the traditional ICW, it actually lets you sail under wind power and visit great spots like Manteo, Englehard, Ocracoke, and Hatteras Island without the worry of narrow channels, shoaling, and bridges.  The only bridge on the alternate ICW is a full 65 feet at normal high water.  For an adventure of new sights and to save time, take the alternate and enjoy your trip.
